Странно всё в этом мире... Странные люди вокруг, поют странные песни, играют странную музыку... Депрессивный, сумасшедший альбом "Die Liebe Gottes" стал для группы Samsas Traum прорывом в человеческий мир. Да и группой Samsas Traum назвать сложно. Скорее всего, это проект одного человека – Александра Каште. Неуравновешенный психически, немец правит своей музыкой, которая как огненное колесо вращается, обжигая окружающих криками, осыпая пеплом, завораживая чистым и молодым вокалом. Всё перемешено. Ужасная смесь быстроты и медлительности, спокойствия и безудержной энергии.
Каште и семь певиц исполняют сказочную блэк метал оперетту, как её сами называют. Но "Die Liebe Gottes" далеко не блэк метал, это нечто новое – между готикой, электронной музыкой, неоклассикой, но и не без блэкового влияния. Тяжелые ударные, клавишные родом из прошлых и будущих столетий, диалоги. История любви, как и следовало ожидать, превращается в сражение – в битву ангелов. Прекрасная история, это надо слышать. Немецкий язык как нельзя лучше подходит для этой волшебной сказки. Божественные и адские создания, убийства и спасение, добро и зло, много зла, великое зло, но всё же есть надежда...
Страшный человек, этот Александр Каште. Но может быть, он только играет такую роль, роль в своей жизни, в своей музыке, в своём мире...

Take a step to your window and gaze out slowly and carefully. The record spins on the phonograph and the slight scratching us the only sound you hear. You find yourself distracted and look away from the window... something catches your eye and you spin back to see a pale face staring back at you, and before you can emit even the slightest sound you're assaulted by it's scream. You've now entered the very powerful world of images created by Samsas Traum's first official full length release.
It's true, my experience with Samsas Traum was born from their second release Oh Luna Mein, and definately there is much change that happened to Samsas Traum's sound between this album and the next. Where Oh LUna Mein felt much like a journey through space on Albator's great pirate ship, Die Liebe Gottes comes across more like the journey through a bizarre horror film. Imagine the queer film techniques used by Dario Argento or David Lynch (à la Eraserhead) to help guide your imagination through this intense musical experience.
My mind can't escape the cacophony of this release, perhaps the noisiest work by Samsas Traum recorded yet, this album is not for those who have difficulties with cacophonous screams and varying waves of sonic assault. This is not an everyday album either. It requires a specific desire to listen to chaos, and a readiness to find your ears under a continous blast of insanity.
The blood splatters on the wall, and he sits there staring at it all slowly slide down the vertical white surface, pooling on the fake wooden floor. Inside the room with him, the beast continues to shread at his still corpse and the moment fades to black.

Band info:
Samsas Traum (Samsa's Dream) is an Avantgarde band from Germany, fronted by Alexander Kaschte. The band is now based in Austria. Their music consists of elements of dark metal, symphonic metal, Neue Deutsche Härte and cantastoria. The name is derived from the 1915 novel The Metamorphosis's character Gregor Samsa (Samsas Traum translates to Samsa's Dream).
Samsas Traum started in 1996 when Kaschte released his first solo tape. Three years later the solo project became a group of three, and their official debut "Die Liebe Gottes - Eine märchenhafte black metal Operette" divided the scene: Some people said that ST was the best newcomer of the year, other people rather started to hate them, at least also because of some provocative statements by Alexander Kaschte. The follow-up appeared in 2000 with "Oh Luna mein"; a musically matured and varied album of more polished arrangements, balanced instrumentation and beautiful choir-parts. In this time Alexander went on to create his darker alter-ego Weena Morloch, which was more noise music based, and included samples from horror movies. Many more Samsas Traum albums have been released each year, with more Industrial/Classical arrangements. The two new albums, which have been released in November 2007 were also heading new and old ways: While the first Album was most likely a Black Metal-Epos ("Heiliges Herz - Das Schwert deiner Sonne"), the other one was an acoustic and very personal one (Wenn schwarzer Regen..).
The limited first edition of "Heiliges Herz" came in a special book format and a slipcase with silver foil embossing. The 44 booklet pages were bound in linen and made of a special paper with a lacquer print and contain lyrics, liner notes, many photos illustrations exclusively done for the album. Additionally, there was a bonus CD which contained remixes by Pain, Wumpscut, PAL, L'Âme Immortelle, In Strict Confidence and Ingo Römling. Also included are unreleased songs and material from Alexander Kaschte's archives.
